You have been selected by your teacher to participate in the 2019 Masonic sponsored Public Schools Spelling Bee in the ______ grade level from _____________________________________school.
You will be competing with the other selected participants from your grade level to be one of the top 3 spellers among the school districts that serve the Santa Maria Valley. The Spelling Bee will start promptly at 7:00 pm. Once the Spelling Bee has begun and the first word given, no late contestants will be allowed to compete. To help make your evening more enjoyable, we have listed some of the guidelines for you and your family. Please plan to arrive at The Masonic Family Center (See address listed below) by 6:30 pm on the night of the Spelling Bee for your grade level. This allows time to check in, listen to the orientation, go over the rules of the Spelling Bee and, ask any questions you might have prior to the start of the Bee at 7:00 pm.
A “study list” of words is no longer provided to the participants. The objective of this change is to focus on the knowledge of the rules of spelling rather than the ability to memorize.
Please invite your parents and family to attend with you. Refreshments will be provided immediately following the Spelling Bee.
